Pesquet's parrot (Psittrichas fulgidus), also known as the Dracula parrot or as the vulturine parrot (leading to easy confusion with Pyrilia vulturina from Brazil), is the only member of its genus. It is endemic to hill and montane rainforest in New Guinea.

The Dracula parrots are much less bright and they are often colorless. They are the perfect parrot for anyone who considers themselves to be more of a Gothic type. They remind us of vampire movies without even trying to do so. We guess that must be part of their charm.
